Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These terms form an agreement between you and LearnExa. By creating an account or using learnexa.org you accept them. If you use LearnExa on behalf of a child, you accept these terms on their behalf and are responsible for their use of the platform.
2. What LearnExa is
LearnExa is a marketplace that connects students with independent tutors in Pakistan and provides the tools around that: search and matching, bookings, payments held in escrow, live classrooms with whiteboard and chat, group classes, quizzes and tests. Tutors are independent providers, not employees or agents of LearnExa. We do not set their teaching methods and we do not guarantee any particular academic result.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account, and under-18 users should use the platform with a parent or guardian involved. You must give accurate information, keep your password confidential, and not share or sell your account. You are responsible for everything that happens under your login. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Tutor verification
Tutors must complete identity verification before receiving bookings, by submitting CNIC front and back images, a selfie, a phone number and qualification documents. Our review team approves or rejects each submission and you are notified by email. Approval confirms that the submitted documents were reviewed; it is not a background check, an endorsement of teaching quality, or a guarantee of any credential. Submitting forged documents leads to permanent removal and forfeiture of pending payouts.
5. Bookings
A booking is requested by the student, paid in advance, and then accepted or declined by the tutor. Both sides must join the session at the agreed time through the in-app classroom. Sessions and messages must stay on the platform: arranging the same lesson privately removes escrow protection, dispute cover and payment records for both parties.
6. Payments and invoices
Checkout generates an invoice that expires 30 minutes after creation. Supported methods include manual bank-style transfer with screenshot verification and supported crypto transfers, as shown at checkout. Manual payments are confirmed by our team after the screenshot and reference are reviewed. You must submit truthful proof of payment; false proof is fraud and results in account termination. All prices are shown in Pakistani Rupees.
7. Escrow and release
Funds are held in escrow after payment and are not paid to the tutor immediately. After the session is marked complete, a dispute window runs (typically 12–24 hours as shown on the session). If no dispute is raised within that window, funds are released to the tutor's platform balance. If a dispute is raised, the release is paused until our team decides.
8. Cancellations, refunds and disputes
You can request a refund if the tutor declines the booking, if the tutor does not join within 10–15 minutes of the start time, or if the session could not take place for a reason attributable to the tutor. Disputes must be raised inside the dispute window shown on the session and must include a reason. Our team reviews evidence from both sides — attendance data, chat records and session logs — and may refund in full, refund in part, or release payment to the tutor. Our decision on a dispute is final for platform purposes. Refunds are returned to your LearnExa wallet or the original method where possible.
9. Tutor earnings and withdrawals
Released earnings appear in your earnings panel. Withdrawals are subject to the minimum withdrawal amount and processing fee shown in that panel, which LearnExa may change with notice. Payout details you provide must be your own and accurate; we are not responsible for funds sent to incorrect details you supplied. LearnExa retains a service commission on completed sessions, shown before you accept a booking.
10. Subscriptions and badges
Student plans and the tutor verified badge are recurring for the period purchased. They can be cancelled at any time; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current period unless required by law. Plan prices and benefits may change, and changes apply from your next renewal. Plans granted manually by our team as a gift or goodwill may be withdrawn if granted in error or obtained by abuse.
11. Wallet, rewards and competitions
Referral rewards, challenge prizes and test prizes are credited to your LearnExa wallet balance and can be spent at checkout on the platform. Wallet balance from rewards is not cash, is not transferable between accounts, and cannot be withdrawn unless we state otherwise. Rewards obtained through fake accounts, self-referral, automation or manipulated scores are reversed and the account may be suspended.
12. Acceptable use
Do not share personal contact details to take sessions or payments off-platform. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone. Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent your qualifications. Do not upload illegal material, malware, or content you do not have the rights to. Do not scrape, reverse engineer, overload or attempt to bypass access controls on the platform. Do not use the platform to complete another person's exam or assessment dishonestly.
13. Content you upload
You keep ownership of your profile content, intro video, whiteboard work and messages. You grant LearnExa a limited licence to host, display and process that content as needed to operate the service — for example showing your tutor profile to students or exporting a whiteboard to PDF. You confirm you have the right to upload everything you submit, and we may remove content that breaks these terms.
14. Live classes and recordings
Sessions run through the in-app classroom. You need a working device, microphone and internet connection; we are not responsible for missed sessions caused by your own equipment or connectivity. Do not record, screenshot or redistribute a session or another user's likeness without their clear consent.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is involved in fraud or payment abuse, or creates a safety risk. You can close your own account at any time from your profile or by contacting us. Pending sessions and disputes are settled before any remaining balance is released, and payouts linked to fraudulent activity may be withheld.
16. Disclaimers and liability
LearnExa is provided on an as-is basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific learning outcomes, exam results, income for tutors, or the accuracy of user-submitted content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid to LearnExa in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting mandatory consumer rights you may have where you live.
18. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service evolves; the date at the top shows the current version and material changes are announced in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent through the Contact page.
